- Yes, but it will talk correctly to other faxmodems (Sportster, PPI
- MC288MT) if the GV software saw a Platinum on the modem port last time it
- was told to look.

- I have the PPI MC288MT II V.34 with LED status indicators. It outperforms
- the GV Platinum I pitted it against -- with my ISP, anyway. The GV would
- typically get in at 21.4k-24k, rarely 26.4k and never 28.8k (note: useful
- 28.8 connections to my ISP have been unattainable by any of four V.34
- modems I've tried). When it did get in at 26.6k, transfers were identical
- to the PPI.
